Responding to a tweet by former Obama campaign manager David Axelrod, I found myself entering into a tweet exchange about an accusation that Rand Paul was racist (see the story about that part of the exchange here). After the exchange of about 30 tweets that I found to be stunning – statements that you cannot express your opinion about racism unless you are black – I was dismissed.
Here is where the fun began. Thinking that the tweets openly stated what the left often thinks but never says directly I took a screenshot of the exchange. It was lucky that I did this because at about this moment my tweets started to disappear before my eyes. I switched over to the interactions page and suddenly a message flashed that said “Thinking Right Blog is a protected account” and I was denied access. Funny thing is I am Thinking Right, my account is not protected and my account was completely frozen. I switched over to my personal account to see if Twitter was having issues and the answer was no. When I went back to Thinking right, all of my tweets and the responses were completely erased or frozen.
Ever watched a movie where the evil government suddenly steps in and takes over the life of a citizen that was just in the wrong place at the wrong time by manipulating his life, changing his electronic records, erasing his history? I have seen a lot of those and I am usually able to “temporarily suspend disbelief” so that I can enjoy the movie. Of course, once it is done I laugh at how unrealistic it was. This felt exactly like that, only it was real and not funny. I went to Facebook and published the conversation.
Now it got even stranger, about ten minutes later I went back to Twitter and about two-thirds of my deleted tweets suddenly reappeared, but none of the responses to those tweets. My still deleted tweets were now marked “protected” and I was blocked from access, all of the responses (including the original that launched the whole episode) were deleted and all of the exchange had been deleted from the my “mentioned” page. I did not think it funny when my wife joked that the police were about to knock on my door.
Is there a chance that this is some weird coincidence? Though I think it highly likely that this was NOT a coincidence, for my own peace of mind I hope that it is. Here is how the exchange looked before it was altered and deleted.

@davidaxelrod How can Rand Paul oppose the Civil Rights Amendment and say he supports poor children?
ThinkingRightBlog
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod Paul doesn’t believe in racism that isn’t the same as opposing the Civil Rights Amendment.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod It is EXACTLY the same thing & don’t try to tell me, a black person who has exp racism, otherwise.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod So because you are black you get the last and only word? I have experienced racism and I am not black.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod Yeah, I hv the last word abt my exp. Don’t need you to make excuses for and preach to me abt racism.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod I’m supposed to believe Rand Paul really wants to protect my liberties while he would deny my civil rights.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod You didn’t answer the question, do you get the only word on what is racist because you are black?
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod Yes I get the last word on what is racist as it pertains to me. You do not.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod That wld be like a man telling a woman what she exp having a child. He couldn’t begin to know.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod Still avoiding, we are talking about Civil Rights nationally and not setting policy about only your experience.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod I answered your Q. Like all GOPers u refuse to hear the truth. You do not get to tell me what racism is.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod It is definitionally racist to promote one race at the expense of another – you have to use race to do that.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod And we are talking abt the exp of millions of American citizens.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod No, you said that you got the last word on your experience, not “millions of American citizens.” Which is it?
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod I’m supposed to believe Rand Paul really wants to protect my liberties while he would deny my civil rights.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod Still didn’t answer. Rand Paul believes all races should get equal treatment – any other position is racist.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl So you’re saying Civil Rights Act put in place to ensure equality is racist?
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod It is definitionally racist to promote one race at the expense of another – you have to use race to do that.
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl And show me where Paul believes all races equal. That why he opppses Civil Rights act? Votes 4 laws against women’s rights?
LiberalPhenom @LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl Since when? Being against the Civil Rights amendment which furthers equal treatment is not believing all are equal.
ThinkingRightBlog @ThinkingRightBl
@LiberalPhenom @davidaxelrod Actually, the Constitution does You are saying that your race deserves superior treatment because of skin color
LiberalPhenom
@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod Look, you support Paul, you suport him denying me & millions other citizens rights. I’m done.
At the very least I think it bears mentioning that you handled the actual exchange very well. Ron Paul has said many times that he doesn’t like to hear about or talk about ‘women’s rights’ or ‘gay rights’ or whatever because all we can possibly hope to have is individual rights and liberties, that those rights come from God not the government and that any attempt to protect special groups can only result in tyranny as this will necessarily exclude others (if not directly targeting and victimizing them.) Two people walk down the same street on two consecutive nights and each is attacked – one is a White hetero male and the other is whatever special demographic you might like to supply. The attacker(s) of the White hetero male get prosecuted under the assault laws. The attacker(s) of the ‘special person’ get all that plus a sentence enhancement for picking on someone other than a White hetero male. How is that fair? How is that just? You know? Only in a nation gone this far to the left of reason….
“statements that you cannot express your opinion about racism unless you are black”
Another article based on a false premise. Nowhere did the Tweeter express that sentiment.
“LiberalPhenom LiberalPhenom@ThinkingRightBl @davidaxelrod Yeah, I hv the last word abt my exp.”
What was Axelrod’s original tweet? Or should I head on over to twitchy? Maybe Malkin will mention you next time she’s on F0cks.
And what does the tag President Obama have anything to do with this poutrage post?
You just ignore the statment where she implies that she is speaking for “millions of Americans” and the fact that the whole personal experience argument was completely inconsistent with her other statements. I am going to take that on soon in a seperate post. Axelrod’s original post was the only entry on that was on the prior page and escaped my screenshot. It was a generic comment about Paul’s statement – it has been permanently erased from everything that I can find. While I thought it was completely wrong, it did not really materially impact the story and I didn’t want to misquote. I am now barred from his site – if you can find it Snoopy please post it.
Snoopy, I have lost subscribers specifically because of your attacks. I love your input but your personal attacks unrelated to the posts are a problem and go against the purpose of this blog.
[deleted unresponsive personal attack not furthering the discussion]
Thank you for replacing my on topic post with your own little propagandist ‘not’. Sad we’ll never know if your claim is true since the post “disappeared”, along with much of the text of others of my posts today.
How ironic – dare I say hypocritical – that you are “having convulsions” over missing Tweets while heavily censoring my opinions today. I can’t help but wonder the accuracy of the “exchange” you posted since, if you have a screenshot, you chose not to post that and instead typed out what you want the readers to see.
P.S. Lest you think this “off topic”, your post is as much about censorship as it is racism. Yes, censorship is bad no matter who does it.
The purpose of this blog is for you to attack anything and everything, no matter how petty, that emanates from the left. Then when the right’s ideology is confronted, you view it as a “personal attack” (which is pretty much all of the left’s posts here.
I agree Mr. Willis…..someone on the left always seem to thank everything the right says or does is anti this or anti that.
I grew up in a small town in Oregon. We only had one family of Japanese, several families of Mexican descendant and no blacks. I never knew anything about racism until I went into the Marine Corps in 1970. What I learned in boot camp was ‘no one is above anyone else, we work as a team’. That was the last I heard of teamwork and working together.
It wasn’t until I did my first tour in Viet Nam that I was aware of racist difference. The blacks kept to themselves and the white’s kept to themselves. I learned all about “honky, cracker, whitey” and such. I also first heard terms such as “nigger, spooks, jig-a-boos” and others as such.
I have since realized that there is no easy way to differ from others without being judged as either racist, left or right. It makes no difference what your opinion may be there is someone to disagree. Regardless of how something is presented, ‘you are always wrong’.
So I guess what I’m trying to get across is this: I may have my opinions or beliefs, but there is always someone to tell me I’m wrong. What we all thought racial equality would become has not united anyone. We all remain divided.
“someone on the left always seem to thank everything the right says or does is anti this or anti that.”
And the preponderance of the evidence proves this accurate. The GOP rarely discusses what they’re FOR but dwells on what they’re AGAINST. Facts are facts.
Racism will exist forever as it has existed since the ‘dawn of time’. It is a part of human nature and to a degree, inherent in humans as we emphasize our differences (GOP is a prime example) rather than our similarities. There will never be the utopia of racial equality or neutrality…never. It’s a pipe-dream to think otherwise.
Seems,
While I agree with most of what you say, I would like an example or two of when someone on the left said something and was called a racist for it. The hypocritical liberal media does not hesitate to attacks conservatives as racist while ignoring comments from the left.
SNOOPY is a coward.
A creep and a troll.
Mr. Willis proves again and again how tolerant, how brave and how true to American ideals he is even as he is taunted, mocked and otherwise insulted by this feeble little mouth-running jerk. When the page has been turned on this little chapter in political discussion we know as thinkingrightblog, when it is all over and the world can look back at these posts and articles, what I am saying now will be acknowledged and approved by future generations of brave, freedom loving persons.
Somewhere a local craigslist Rant & Raves forum is missing its anonymous troll. Go home creep.

As always, thanks for reading, Christ-opher.
And what does ‘Snoopy’ think would happen if we knew who he/she is? The only effect of coming out from behind the chicken shield would be a likely taming of the hyperbole and disrespect we see in virtually every post from this jackass. With your own name and face on things you would have to grow up and dial it back or else face the fallout the rest of us risk when we lay it on the line for Liberty. Cowardice. Name calling. off-topic bulls**t. Liberalism manifested.
And yet you’ve just done everything you are falsely accusing me of doing. Attack that windmill, Christ-opher.
Did you have something on topic to add without the name-calling and personal attacks?
A hypocrite manifested.
“Name calling. off-topic bulls**t.”
And yet you devote two…not one…posts to 100% personal attacks, name calling and not a word on topic.
What does that make you, Christ-opher? Can you say hypocrite?
And I choose (note the word ‘choose’) to use a moniker to avoid posters such as yourself stalking and causing problems in my personal life. There’s some real shady characters in blog-land.
“If you don’t dare to say it and put your name on it why say it at all?” – JOHN LENNON
“If I let my personal fear of what someone might do if they don’t agree with something I say in public guide my actions then any hope of ever accomplishing anything would be hiding under the bed with me. I don’t hide under beds.” – MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr.
“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.” ~~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Greg….you might have missed my point, or I wasn’t more informative. There’s three mentioned. Racist, Left and Right. I never put anyone as a Left Racist or a Right Racist…..but given some research time I’m sure I could find racism from both parties.
Oh heck, two from the stanch left just came to mind. George Wallace…and Strom Thurmond. What they said is too racist to repeat. Yes the Left haunt every conservative every day, and that’s OK. But if you reverse the action, look what happens. It seems to be the standard these days. But look what happened, both jumped ship for political reasons and the rest is history.
Snoopy must read only the left side of the newspaper. I choose to read the whole paper.
“Snoopy must read only the left side of the newspaper.”
That’s a cute little jab, It, and does nothing to further intelligent discourse. But I’m sure that wasn’t your intent.
FWIW, listing racists by political leanings isn’t a “contest”. Racists are everywhere – vocal as well as the “dog whistle” crowd. Even using stereotypes to classify people is racist. There are few who don’t see race and have some preconceived notion, oft erroneous, of that race.
It seems to me’ that racism has been with us since the beginning of time (whenever that was). From the time of Adam to the time of Jesus there was hate amongst the worlds people. After Jesus there is still hate among us.
People are never going to accept each other, as they will always believe they (their race or religion) are superior to others. This goes for religion, race, breed, color and location. We learn racism at an early age, and taught racism till the day we die.
Do you believe there’s a Santa Claus, tooth fairy, Easter bunny, boogie man, ghosts or other such things? NO? Why? Because while we are in our learning years we find out none of them are real. You are influenced by your surroundings.
At an early age we learn about God. But is he real? Like the above mentioned, none of these have been scientifically proven to be real. Now I know the God thing will upset some as they were taught he is real, but no one has real evidence of him.
What we believe is taught to us. Racism is taught, just like the bible, to us at an early age. You’re not born racist, you learn racism from your surroundings. Hence if you are not taught religion you have no idea what a God is. Thanks to our elders we are what we are.
Yes some learn during life that there is a God and some learn racism by others actions. This is a no win situation. You learn all of this, and can’t distinguish fact from fiction. So we can’t claim racism by just being born black, Jewish or Muslim. You learn racism by being TAUGHT racism.
